Wojciech Maciejowski

Born in 1961 in Poznań. For ten years he was a choir singer and a soloist of the Poznań Boys’ Choir of Jerzy Kurczewski.

He is a graduate of musicology from the Catholic University of Lublin, from the Postgraduate Conducting Study at the Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz and from the Faculty of Singing and Acting at the Academy of Music in Poznań (diploma with honours, Prof. Ewa Wdowicka’s class). In 1990 he received a scholarship from the Mozart Society and the Mozarteum Academy in Salzburg where he studied interpretation of Mozart’s music with Prof. E. Häfliger and E. Tappa.

Wojciech Maciejowski is a laureate of vocal competitions: three prizes at the Ada Sari Vocal Art Competition, 1st prize at the Moniuszko Competition in Warsaw in 1989.

Since 1988 he has cooperated with opera theatres in Poland (Poznań, Bytom, Kraków, Łódź, Szczecin) and abroad (Brussels, Antwerp, Munich, Salzburg, Frankfurt a/Main, Prague, Brno).

Wojciech Maciejowski performed during well-known festivals, including Łańcut, Kudowa, Brighton, Tokyo, Prague Spring, Wiener Klassik, Mozartwocke Salzburg.
He cooperates with such well-known conductors as: Gerd Albrecht, Sylvan Camberling, Silvio Varsovio, Hans Zender, Bernard Heitink, Stefan Stuligrosz, Tomasz Bugaj, Wojciech Michniewski, Tadeusz Wojciechowski, Jerzy Salwarowski.

His achievements include numerous radio television and CD recordings in Poland, Czech Repubulic, Germany, Belgium, Austria and the United States.

Since 1996 he has taught a solo singing class at the Academy of Music in Poznań.

Since 1999 he has held the function of the artistic director of the ‘Viva la Musica’ Świnoujście Music Days.

Since 2002 he has been a vocal consultant of Opera na Zamku (the Opera in the Castle) in Szczecin.
